Wool Bedding – The Facts

Wool bedding provides a more comfortable sleeping environment
than more common synthetic bedding and therefore enables
you to sleep for longer.
What makes wool bedding unique is its natural ability
to ‘breathe’, this enables it to maintain
your body’s own ‘ideal’ sleeping temperature,
by keeping you cooler when it is hot and warmer when it
is not.
The key secret to wool bedding’s success is found
in its fibres. Unlike synthetic materials, wool bedding
can actually absorb moisture away from your skin, which
allows you to stay cooler and drier, with a more constant
body temperature throughout the night. By maintaining
your body at more constant temperature wool bedding ensures
that you get a more relaxed and restful nights sleep and
therefore wake-up calm, stress free and invigorated for
the day ahead.
The natural moisture control found in wool bedding also
means that it is naturally bacteria inhibiting. Traditional
bedding has very little moisture management properties
and therefore moisture will sit on the fibres creating
warm, dark, damp conditions, which are ideal conditions
for mites to bread. Wool bedding absorbs excess moisture
vapour into its fibres before releasing it into the surrounding
environment, therefore reducing the conditions required
for the life cycle of the mite. At sleepcheaper we have a complete range of wool bedding
designed to maximise the advantages found from sleeping
on or between wool. Our range includes the woollen under
blanket which is designed to be placed between your mattress
and fitted sheet, our wool filled quilts and woollen over
blankets, which can replace your traditional quilts or
duvet, and our woollen pillow covers, which fit nicely
over a standard pillow inner. |
