Memory Foam Mattress – The Facts

Having been available for over 10 years the memory foam
mattress is not a new concept, in fact foam mattresses
have been available for well over 20 years.
A memory foam mattress, or to be more precise a Visco
elastic foam polymer mattress, is manufactured from a
temperature sensitive polyurethane foam that has the ability
to compress, then slowly return to its original shape.
When pressure from a sleeper is placed on the mattress
it compresses forming the natural shape of the human body.
By compressing more, where the heavier or more pronounced
body parts are (Shoulders, hips and feet etc) and less
where the lighter and concave parts of the body are (neck,
waist and ankles etc), your spine is supported in its
natural position.
Body heat from the sleeper transfers to the temperature
sensitive foam which softens to contour exactly with each
individual sleeper. As more of the sleepers’ body
is in contact with the mattress, counter pressure is spread
evenly making the whole sleeping experience far more comfortable.
A memory foam mattress is therefore more supportive and
comfortable and can allow the sleeper to achieve a much
deeper sleep for considerably longer periods of time without
the sleeper being disturbed.
